Karen Wysiecki


Karen Wysiecki has been a Director on the Anawim board for the past 8 years following a 37-year career as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse for Island Health. She worked for 20 years as a program coordinator, 17 in Mental Health and Substance Use-Residential and Housing services where she developed residential housing.
Karen was drawn to Anawim House’s approach of supporting and empowering individuals to improve their lives. Karen’s experience and expertise in program development as a front-line leader overseeing and operating several residential licensed homes and supported apartments is helping Anawim to pursue its vision.
Having lived in the Victoria area for over 45 years, she has seen many changes in the local communities with more vulnerable individuals on the streets. She is particularly enthusiastic about ensuring that individuals who want to improve their lives have a respectful, safe place to go.
