Karen Wysiecki has been a director on the Anawim board for the past eight years, following a 37-year career as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with Island Health. She spent 20 years as a program coordinator, 17 of which were in Mental Health and Substance Use—Residential and Housing Services, where she developed residential housing programs. Drawn to Anawim House’s approach of supporting and empowering individuals to improve their lives, she brings valuable experience and expertise to the board.

As a frontline leader, Karen oversaw and operated several licensed residential homes and supported apartments, helping Anawim pursue its vision. Having lived in the Victoria area for over 45 years, she has witnessed significant changes in the community, particularly the growing number of vulnerable individuals on the streets. She is passionate about ensuring that those seeking to improve their lives have access to a safe, respectful place to go.
