Every weekday, around 50 people pull up a chair at Anawim's drop-in. Each seat holds something different: a hot meal, a warm shower, clean clothes, a quiet place to rest, or a staff member who knows your name.
This season, we're asking you to help keep every one of those seats ready, day in and day out, for the year ahead.
What happens at the table
Anawim's drop-in is Victoria's only substance-free drop-in space. For many of our guests, it's the one place in the city where they can sit down, eat, and rest without drugs around them.
Every weekday, our table offers:
- A home-cooked mealFrom stir-fry to pasta, served at a real table.
- Hot showers and working laundryFor guests with few other places to get clean.
- A clothing roomStocked with donated clothes and free for anyone who needs them.
- Staff who know every guest by nameAnd help connect them to support when they're ready.
- A place to belongWhere guests clear plates and wipe tables together.
For many people, the drop-in is the first door into Anawim.
Lisa was a regular at our drop-in long before she moved into Susan's Place, our home for women. The staff and volunteers made her feel seen and cared for. Matt came to Anawim from a treatment centre in Vancouver, and the drop-in became part of his everyday life as a resident. Today, Lisa is close with her children and grandchildren, and Matt has been sober for almost three years.

Yes. Anawim Companions Society is a registered charity, and you'll receive an official tax receipt for your gift.
